May I attend different classes to fit my schedule?
Yes, we offer a flexible arrangement where our participants can attend any location
at any time.
If I join a session late will I be able to keep up?
Of course you can keep up. We encourage our participants to focus not on being
better than the next person, but on improving relative to their previous performance.
If I am a "physical specimen" will I get a workout?
Yes, if you are prepared to work hard COS Fitness Instructors will provide a
workout that will make you sweat.
What kind of results can I expect?
We hesitate to promise specific results, as they vary depending on an individual's goals, effort, and lifestyle.
In general, our class participants have improved their mood, motivation, strength, self-confidence, and, especially,
their endurance; other participants interested in weight management have noticed healthy weight loss and
increased muscle tone.
Are classes cancelled due to poor weather conditions?
We train rain or shine. COS Fitness Instructors are sometimes able to move the
class indoors depending on time of day and location, but there is no guarantee.
What is your refund policy?
The registration and administrative duties of COS Fitness Programs are handled by
Vancouver Parks and Recreation. They do allow refunds, but only under certain
circumstances. COS private classes have a separate refund policy, call our office
for more details.
Do classes run on holidays?
Sometimes we choose to run classes on certain holidays. Instructors will notify participants at the
beginning of the session if a class will be running on a holiday.
What kinds of people join COS Outdoor Fitness classes?
Anyone and everyone has been involved with COS Outdoor Fitness classes. Whether you are just
beginning or you are ready to train like a pro, COS instructors will give you an ideal workout.
Will the COS Boot Camp be too intense?
We offer four- and six-week lifestyle experiences.
Our sessions are designed to be inclusive of all ability levels. You will
feel included in all of the exercises and are sure to succeed. Come and
visit a class to see if it's for you!
What exercises are performed in a COS Boot Camp?
Our seasoned instructors deliver a range of core-strengthening exercises, plyometrics, agility
exercises, calisthenics, speed drills, circuit training, yoga, Pilates, and toning exercises.
Who should join the COS Outdoor Fitness?
People seeking to enhance their physical performance and well-being, and those looking for a
change from their regular routines. COS Boot Camps are excellent for those looking to
build strength, increase their cardio fitness, and manage their weight (lose and gain).
Does COS provide health and wellness appraisals?
Yes, we can suggest various appraisal components and design an appraisal to fit your needs and interests.
With this set of baselines you can structure your program goals and strive for success.
The appraisal will take place before your first class and within two days of your last class.
Does the class involve running, burpees & push-ups?
With the largest selection of equipment among all boot camps in Vancouver, we
prefer to spend a very small amount of class time on these three exercises.
We emphasize the basics, but use a variety of exercises using the greatest new
fitness equipment. One of our main goals is to have fun!
How do I take my fitness to the next level?
We can recommend and arrange a number of follow-up steps for interested clients.
We recommend that you have a thorough health and wellness appraisal after the
Boot Camp, together with an energy intake analysis. Then COS can help you design a
lifestyle-tailored program to maximize your potential. Regular program evaluation
should be a feature of any such plan.
May I bring my dog?
All friendly dogs are welcome to the COS Outdoor Fitness Programs. Your
dog must be leashed at all times, and you must abide by city bylaws.
Certain dogs and their behaviour can be very disruptive to a class, so we
reserve the right to ask you not to bring your pet to class.
Could COS offer a Wedding Boot Camp?
Why not? That special day is just around the corner, and we'd be happy to work with your
wedding party. We work with the bride, groom and his/her closest friends, and/or have everyone
together in one class! Help us tailor the class to meet your needs.
Do COS fitness programs run year round?
Yes, we have classes starting at various dates, times, and locations around Vancouver throughout
the year. Please contact our office for more information.
