Functional Rehabilitation
At Corporate Occupational Solutions (COS), our client-centered approach caters to the needs of individual clients and their families. Our rehabilitation programs, designed by a team of highly qualified professionals, are carefully designed, monitored, and adjusted to suit client lifestyles. We develop these programs using a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, rehabilitation assistants, and physicians. Through networking with community programs and employers, our staff can also assist the client in community and work re-integration.
Insurance Claims
The COS rehabilitation team will coordinate with insurance providers to manage and control the cost of treatment and determine the best programs and services for maximum recovery of their clients. These rehabilitation services include:
Community Re-integration
After completing a needs assessment and developing client-centered goals, the rehabilitation team will provide training and education on community re-integration. The individual may need re-training in basic life skills and daily activities. Grooming, dressing, and washing can be assessed by the occupational therapist and support may be provided if needed. The team can also help the client find information on community access, transportation, or any other programs and services of interest.
Physical Conditioning
Individualized training programs are developed by a highly trained professional team to address client needs such as increasing strength and endurance, restoring range of motion, and developing balance and coordination. These programs return client to optimal function, allowing the individual to resume activities, return to work, or re-integrate into the community.
Cognitive Assessment and Retraining
With the help of our occupational therapists, we can provide cognitive evaluation and training to restore function and adapt to physical or mental limitations resulting from injury or illness. COS staff will help to develop skills that increase client independence at home, work, and in the community. The client will be able to adapt to the environment using modified techniques, and quality of life can be restored to promote a healthy and active life.

Hospital to Home Assessment & Planning
Hospital discharge can be frightening to individuals if they have not adapted the home environment to their disabled condition. COS staff will gather information on work and household equipment needs, so that appropriate modifications can be made to allow for a safe return home. The occupational therapist will also arrange for support workers and homecare to address client needs.
Case Management Services
Our highly qualified occupational therapists manage client records and assess the functional, rehabilitation, and medical needs of the client. An occupational therapist will coordinate a team of specialists appropriate for the client and his or her needs. Our multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, dieticians, kinesiologists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation assistants work together to provide the best care possible and meet client goals.

What to Expect
Once the members of the rehabilitation team have completed the initial assessment and diagnostics, they will collaborate to develop a customized program and services to help restore client function and re-establish a high quality of life. This multidisciplinary approach enables the client to move through the rehabilitation process in a timely matter, restoring function and returning to activity in an organized, goal-oriented fashion.
Return to Work Programs and Jobsite Evaluation
Returning to work after an injury or illness can be a challenge if proper adaptations are not made to accommodate the disability. Whether a condition is permanent or temporary, COS staff will provide a detailed assessment of work-related activities and equipment use to develop adaptations and modifications needed for a successful return to work. A graduated “return-to-work” program will cater to the individual based on ability and function. The rehabilitation team will communicate with the employer and help design a work environment that is functional for the client. The assessment of work-related activities will help the physiotherapist implement exercises within the program that correct alignment and mechanics related to work activities.
Whether you are looking to get into shape or address a specific condition or injury, our team of trained professionals can provide individualized exercise programs that target client goals. Developing an active and healthy lifestyle requires both an awareness of healthy living and exercise. At COS we believe in educating and empowering the client. The training program can address work-, home-, and sport-related activities to allow for a smooth transition to recovery. If client goals are fitness related, the kinesiologist can design a training program to develop strength, endurance, coordination, and flexibility by combining exercises with cardiovascular activity. If the client requires an active rehabilitation program following initial program completion, a kinesiologist will work with the client to address further rehabilitation goals.
Health and Wellness Services
Active living is the key to a healthy lifestyle, so it is important that clients get involved in community programs and services during and after the COS rehabilitation program. To maintain the function gained during rehabilitation, the individual must continue to keep active and get involved in beneficial programs. COS offers a variety of such programs to motivate clients and keep them active. link to
